Bye Bye tonsils!!!!
Ever since Cameron was about a little over a year he began getting fevers on a regular basis.
As his mom, it seemed like it was more then the average kid. I was trying to go with the flow and not be an over paranoid parent. We had his blood work done at 18 months and ruled out anything major. Which gave me peace of mind for a little while. I changed pediatrician's with in the pediatric office we were going to, and started tracking every fever he had. How long they lasted, whether or not he had a cold along with it, what his temp was and so on. The doctor said he wanted me to come back if the fevers were sooner then every 6 weeks. So gradually over the past year, they went from every 6 weeks, to 4 weeks, 3 weeks and even every 2 1/2 weeks. I went back to Cameron's doctor and he no longer was worried about his fevers coming sooner then 6 weeks. I was not comfortable with his changed mind. So I called up my childhood pediatrician whom gave me great advice on blood work that should be run and a ton of other test. The very last thing he said to me was, "every once in a while children with these chronic fevers do need to have there tonsils taken out, but that's pretty rare." So we went back to Cam's pediatrician again and we left still feeling like he wanted to just continue to monitor the situation. We were not comfortable with that any longer, and I started researching pediatrician's on line from referrals given to me. Finally we were down to the wire. I wanted to find someone new before Jillian was born. The doctor who delivered Jillian had recommend Sand point pediatrics. To say the least I'm nothing but completely impressed with the two fabulous doctors we have worked with there. So after extensive blood work done twice, and a consult with an ENT the decision was to have Cameron's tonsils removed. He was supposed to have the surgery done early June, but due to being sick we had to reschedule. Lucky for me his fevers were predictable. They offered a reschedule date in the middle of July, which I was pretty sure he would be sick and we would be in the same boat rescheduling once again. So I opted for the next available appt. which was today and that worked perfect. Sure enough he did get sick again on the first reschedule date they has given me. So now we are just hopeful that this does the trick, and poor Cam won't have to ask me anymore "Mommy why am I always sick?"
In the waiting room playing Wii
Still happy liking his green gown.
(Green is his favorite color)

Even Ruff got is own dog collar with Cam's information on it.
The poor little guy had no idea getting your tonsils out
isn't all fun and games
Day one he did pretty well as you can see by his happy face.
Day two however, he is moving much more slowly, drinking less fluids ( not good)
and spitting out medicine. Lovely.

Sweet Jillian

Just look at those cheeks! Time is flying by, and I can't believe Jilly is 4 months
old already! She rolled over for the first time this week. She is not into her swing or bouncy seat
because she would rather sit up all the way. No reclining for this little girl. Her neck is getting stronger so she is able to play for short periods of time in her saucer. She's still to small for her jumpy jump. She honestly smiles all the time. She pretty much only cries when she gets tired or is hungry. She is such a sweet little one & her brother is so good to her. Sometimes when I leave the room and she starts to cry he will say to her, "it's ok Jillian, I'm here don't cry." She doesn't mind the car, which I'm thankful for so it's easy to be on the go with her. Her checkup is next week so stay tuned for her latest stats!

Warm Beach

Last week Shanny and her kiddos were in town for a visit. So Les & I packed up our kids and headed north. They all had a blast playing on the beach & exploring. The weather wasn't the greatest, but that never stops Cameron from a little swim. He usually starts by just running in the shallow area a bit, and the next thing you know his clothes are soaked and I have to completely undress him, except the boxers of course!
Look at all the kids between the three of us!
Leslie's girls are Maggie, Ava, & Lucy...
Shanny's kids are Emery, Ty, & Piper...

Today we took the kids to the train park by our house. Cameron is really into going there now cause they have monkey bars that he is able to reach. He can't go all the way across, but he can sometimes swing to the next one. So as he's standing ready to swing across the bars, he notices a man and a woman walking towards us. The man has a really long beard (down to his stomach) and long hair. Cameron says to me"Mom, is that God?" I say "no honey, God lives in heaven." He continues to stare at them the entire time they are walking towards us. He had several more question about him, and his questions weren't quiet. I'm learning to be quick with my responses to what feel like very loud questions.
Miss Jillian is close to 4 months old. She is full of smiles and giggles. She only cry's when she's hungry, tired or when I put her in her car seat. She doesn't mind being in the seat once she's in the car and we are driving. She love to watch her big brother. She especially loves hanging out side. She's so much fun to have around.

4th of July weekend

This weekend was a fun one...
Cameron climbing at the beach.
He is very into "fireman Sam". In this picture he is pretending to rescue a kitty from a tree. Check out his arm. Can't you tell he's bringing a cat down the ladder? :) He will do this over and over and over again. He's very into repetition.
Sweet little Jillian hanging in her stroller at the beach. Next year will be a different story. So I am enjoying the non mobile child for now.
We headed to Lake Wenatchee for the day on Sunday. I got to catch up with Sandy, while Cameron and Paul headed to the lake to check out the wind.
This little game Sandy always brings out for Cam to play with is called don't wake daddy. He also learned how to play go fish.
Daddy and Jillian coming back from the river.
Here we have our own fireman Sam again. It is a pretty hot day and he's all geared up to fight some fires and rescue more kitty's. This is his pretend fire truck and when he turns the lights on it makes a dinging noise & that my friends is his siren.
This was the first year he stayed up late enough to watch the fireworks. He thought they were pretty cool. We sat on our deck and could see all the fireworks across the water from Silverdale to Kingston. They were pretty good.
This picture I love...Cam's natural sweet smile. The one he gives when he is really impressed by something.
And last but not least...Today we spent the whole day outside. We filled up the pool and played with the hose so long that I'm sure I will see the damage on our water bill. We also filled up balloons and tossed them back and forth, and then tried to throw them into the pool from a few feet away. He thought that was a ton of fun. Cam and I had alot of one and one time together thanks to Miss Jillian sleeping for 3 hrs. in the morning and another brief nap in the late afternoon.

A morning with one of my favorite Leslie's

Today my dear friend Leslie and her girls came over to play and meet Jillian. Cameron enjoys playing with her younger daughter Tia, whom he renamed Tia Tortilla. The kids had a blast playing store and riding bikes outside. As you can see we even had a picnic. Lately Cameron has been very injury pron, but today was a good day. See the helmet on his head??? I pretty much have him keep it on for every activity that we do (outdoors of course).

Kira was very excited to meet baby Jillian and hold her. Leslie told me she even asked her if she could feed her. So of course at her next feeding I asked Kira if she wanted to do it. I totally remember getting so excited to hold, feed, change a diaper or what ever any mom asked me to help her with.
